The 12 Days of Fringemas

A few years ago I wrote a parody of the Firefly theme song with lyrics supporting Fringe, which had just been moved to Fridays. I was thinking about that recently, and somehow “The 12 Days of Christmas” popped into my head. I was immediately struck by the idea of a Fringe-ified version of the classic holiday tune, so I decided to throw one together for Fringe Week. It might be a little late in the season for a retooled Christmas carol, but as far as I’m concerned, Fringe should be celebrated year-round. So here goes…

On the first day of Fringemas my true love gave to me:

a Peter in a pea coat.

On the second day of Fringemas my true love gave to me:

Two Lincoln Lees,

And a Peter in a pea coat.

On the third day of Fringemas my true love gave to me:

Three Red Vines,

Two Lincoln Lees,

and a Peter in a pea coat.

On the fourth day of Fringemas my true love gave to me:

Four white tulips,

Three Red Vines,

Two Lincoln Lees,

and a Peter in a pea coat.

On the fifth day of Fringemas my true love gave to me:

Five rhubarb pies!

Four white tulips,

Three Red Vines,

Two Lincoln Lees,

and a Peter in a pea coat.

On the sixth day of Fringemas my true love gave to me:

Six Nissan hybrids,

Five rhubarb pies!

Four white tulips,

Three Red Vines,

Two Lincoln Lees,

and a Peter in a pea coat.

On the seventh day of Fringemas my true love gave to me:

Seven gray fedoras,

Six Nissan hybrids,

Five rhubarb pies!

Four white tulips,

Three Red Vines,

Two Lincoln Lees,

and a Peter in a pea coat.

On the eighth day of Fringemas my true love gave to me:

Eight lab cows mooing,

Seven gray fedoras,

Six Nissan hybrids,

Five rhubarb pies!

Four white tulips,

Three Red Vines,

Two Lincoln Lees,

and a Peter in a pea coat.

On the ninth day of Fringemas my true love gave to me:

Nine green fairies dancing,

Eight lab cows mooing,

Seven gray fedoras,

Six Nissan hybrids,

Five rhubarb pies!

Four white tulips,

Three Red Vines,

Two Lincoln Lees,

and a Peter in a pea coat.

On the tenth day of Fringemas my true love gave to me:

Ten strawberry milkshakes,

Nine green fairies dancing,

Eight lab cows mooing,

Seven gray fedoras,

Six Nissan hybrids,

Five rhubarb pies!

Four white tulips,

Three Red Vines,

Two Lincoln Lees,

and a Peter in a pea coat.

On the eleventh day of Fringemas my true love gave to me:

Eleven Alt-verse blimps,

Ten strawberry milkshakes,

Nine green fairies dancing,

Eight lab cows mooing,

Seven gray fedoras,

Six Nissan hybrids,

Five rhubarb pies!

Four white tulips,

Three Red Vines,

Two Lincoln Lees,

and a Peter in a pea coat.

On the twelfth day of Fringemas my true love gave to me:

Twelve names for Astrid,

Eleven Alt-verse blimps,

Ten strawberry milkshakes,

Nine green fairies dancing,

Eight lab cows mooing,

Seven gray fedoras,

Six Nissan hybrids,

Five rhubarb pies!

Four white tulips,

Three Red Vines,

Two Lincoln Lees,

and a Peter in a pea coat.

Happy Fringe Week everyone! Thanks for celebrating with us.
