Orphan Black 1×03 Photo Recap: “Variation Under Nature”
You came back! Yay!
In “Variation Under Nature,” Sarah finally learned why there are four women who look just like her. She is one of quadruplets! 28 years ago, Sarah Manning’s mom was Nadya Suleman of the 1980s. She offered herself to science and had quadruplets. Then, to protect the kids from ever being discovered by the Sith, she hid them. One girl was given to relatives in the desert, the second went to an influential senator, the third was given to an orphanage and the fourth was raised by scientists . Now, they have found each other and will work together to bring balance to the Force!
Actually, they are clones.
It’s amazing Sarah does not have a migraine with everything she is juggling. She has to be aware of who she is playing, herself or Beth, and fake it really well when she has no idea what is going on. Those moments when she is oblivious to Beth’s law enforcement career are the best, of course. Sarah is a quick learner so in no time, she will be feared by all the criminals in Canada…which is like 8, right?
So, Sarah as Beth was fully reinstated and got her gun back at the precinct. Art, the no nonsense detective, didn’t even give Sarah two seconds to celebrate her return since he had her go with him to a crime scene that was just reported. But this wasn’t any crime scene. This was the quarry where Sarah buried Katja. The cosmic goads are just laughing at her at this point. The silver lining in all of this was that Katja’s body was so mangled that reconstruction would take days. Art took this free time to sign both of them up for a session at the range. The man is all work and no play!
Can I have Raj Singh work in the IT department at my workplace?! He is so adorable. Perhaps, it is best he doesn’t work with me because I would be that employee downloading viruses just so he would have to come to my desk and fix my computer.
Paul Dierden is a walking commercial for Trojan. He is hornier than that pubescent kid in the music video for “Stacy’s Mom.” In fact, that song is probably based on his life! So far, Paul is a one dimensional character which I haven’t decided if he is good or evil. He is just there. He exists only to lust Beth, not love her. I want to say he is hiding something but I could be overestimating his intelligence. The man has not figured out that Beth is not his Beth! The sex is killing his brain cells.
Just as Sarah was getting comfortable wearing the shoulder holster, she actually had to use it. How does that saying go? “It’s all fun and games, until your partner gets shot.” Well, yeah, that happened. Sarah followed Art into the killer’s
trap apartment and quickly found out they probably should have called back up. Shots were fired then Sarah was forced to chase the suspect. Oh yeah, scary crap like that can happen when your a cop. It’s not all writing tickets and dressing up as McGruff for the community fair. The whole situation left Sarah rattled but she’s a tough cookie.
The killer is another clone!!!!!!! WHAT?!
I am absolutely loving the twists and turns on this show. The cliffhangers are so good that the DVD set should actually come with a warning label for this with heart problems. So, why is the blonde clone killing the others? Is she the leader of the ‘Clone Haterz’ club? And are the cuts carved on her back some hidden map to finding Atlantis?
Thanks for reading!
